TLDR: Every item is packed to travel well and arrive at its best. Check your product page for storage and prep details. Some thawing in transit is normal and safe. If your order includes dry ice, handle with care — no bare hands. Contact support with any questions.
Every order on Goldbelly is packed with the same care that went into making it. Each restaurant and maker ships their food the way they know best — so it travels well and arrives ready to enjoy.
Instructions & Storage
Every product page includes an Instructions & Storage section with everything you need to know about your specific order — how it ships, how to store it, and any prep steps before serving.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Frozen items may partially or fully thaw in transit. That's expected, and it doesn't affect quality or safety.
- Items requiring cooling are safe to enjoy as long as they arrive cool to the touch.
- Some items are fine arriving at room temperature and don't require coolant — that's completely normal.
In Transit
Most items ship frozen with dry ice or ice packs. A little thawing along the way is perfectly normal and part of how these foods are designed to travel.
A note on dry ice
If your order arrives with dry ice, here's how to handle it safely:
- Never touch dry ice with bare hands — always use gloves or a towel.
- Outdoors, leave it on the sidewalk in the sun and it will dissipate on its own.
- Indoors, set it in a sink or container while still wrapped to protect the surface beneath it.
