It is the sole responsibility of the customer to notify a gift recipient of a pending delivery. We strongly suggest that during the checkout process, the purchaser include the recipient's email, so they can receive updates on when the order ships, is out for delivery, and is delivered.
You [and possibly the recipient] will receive a shipping notification when the gift ships so that you are able to track the package. Please be sure to notify the recipient of their gift when it arrives as FedEx and UPS drivers will only leave the package at a recipient's door, or other secure location such as a mailroom or locker, if the driver believes it is 'safe' to do so.
If the recipient is not available to receive the delivery and the carrier determines the delivery location is not ‘safe,’ Goldbelly is not responsible for a damaged/spoiled product and/or additional delays.
