TLDR: Some thawing is normal for frozen items — check the product page for what to expect. Refrigerated orders are good to go as long as they arrive cool to the touch. Something seem off? Contact Goldbelly Support with photos within 14 days.
Shipping exceptional food across the country is something we take seriously. Every order is carefully packaged and shipped at the speed the food inside actually needs — and we fine-tune that by season, because a January shipment and an August shipment are very different things.
Even so, transit isn't a controlled environment. Extreme temperatures occasionally affect packages in ways that are outside anyone's hands.
A few things worth knowing:
Shelf-stable items don't need refrigeration, though keeping them in the fridge after arrival will help them stay at their best. For frozen items, some thawing during transit is often completely normal — each product page will tell you exactly what to expect.
Refrigerated items are safe and ready to enjoy as long as they arrive cool to the touch.
For the full picture on how your specific item should arrive and how to store it, the Instructions/Storage section on the product page is the best place to start. (See example below.)
Still have questions?
If something doesn't seem right, feel free to contact us anytime. Reach out to Goldbelly Support within 14 days of delivery and include photos of the package and its contents — while a photo can't show temperature, it helps us understand the full picture and take care of you. Every inquiry is handled on a case-by-case basis, and we're always glad to assist.
